I unplugged my Corsair VOID wired headset but the game would still not work. I'm happy to log with support if need be but someone here may have seen something I've missed? So right now I'm confused - is this a known issue resolution wise ? Was the Norton just a red herring? It's never thrown an error such as that at me before but that's not necessarily indicative of anything. Also, Norton 360 reappeared in my tray without me doing anything. Upon reloading the game the video/audio stuttering had gone but the crashing to desktop resolution problem remained. I was reading through the GOG forum thread ( it's not much help) and composing this thread, when bizarrely out of nowhere I got an exception error from my Norton 360 and it appeared to crash - or at least disapper from my tray. What I was getting was severe stuttering on the video aspects audio wise and it does crash as soon as I try and adjust the resolution beyonf the standard 800圆00 it starts with.įollowing this thread's advice I have disabled my audio devices one by one (although first I double checked the drivers weren't out of date) and none of them appear at first glance to prevent the crashing to desktop when tweaking the resolution. So I'm not having an issue with crashing right away as far as I can tell. You wont see the elements on the map until. Its not a bug, the game requires you to explore the map and solve the puzzles in a certain order. I hope this can help the developers too! Be sure to comment which device you have doesn't work to help them out! I thought it was a bug, too, but when I went to each location that was missing, they then appeared on the map for the tower rotation. Hopefully this helps! it got my Myst IV working by following those steps. If you have more than one device you can try to google the Vendor ID and the Product ID (this is the hexdecimal number after "PID_") to narrow it down to the exact device. If it doesn't, you might have another HID device causing the issue.ī. If you have one product by that manufacture, unplug it and see if Myst IV runs. Google the Vendor ID to see what's causing the issue. At the clock tower, rotate the small wheel twice and the large wheel eight to set the clock to 2:40. Turn on all markers (marker switches to up positions and symbols to green). This is called the Vendor ID (who made the product). Quick solution: These steps will allow Myst to be completed in thirty minutes, without viewing the entire game.
